At Leeson Park School of Music, we provide the highest quality music
education for children in a caring and stimulating environment, where the
abilities of each child can be brought to their full potential.

We have over 30 years of experience nurturing the innate musicality of each child through child-centred teaching from our highly qualified, professional, enthusiastic, specialist teachers. We have developed a reputation as a centre of excellence in music education providing professional tuition in a nurturing and encouraging environment.

Children begin their musical education in Music Kindergarten where we have classes for children from 3 months upwards. The early stages of this program aim to develop a love of music in the young child while introducing the basic elements of music through games and other playful activities. As the children progress, their musical skills are developed and they are introduced to the basic elements of music notation in preparation for starting an instrument. Our instrumental training uses the Colourstrings approach to provide a seamless programme through

Pre-instrumental, Instrumental and Musicianship training up to 18 years of age.

Our teaching is very child-centred in the early stages but is capable of taking students to the highest level of performance on their chosen instrument. Where appropriate, students will be prepared for entry to third-level music institutions. Many of our students have been prizewinners at Newark Music Festival and at the Feis Ceoil.

“To develop a love of music and to learn to play an instrument with confidence is one of the greatest gifts that any child can receive.I believe that there is no better way to introduce your child to music than through the Kindergarten programme in LPSM. My children attend the school learning violin and piano and our experience there has been positive from the beginning. The school has a team of talented and extremely dedicated teachers who nurture and encourage their pupils, those who are talented and those for whom learning is a greater challenge. The teachers expertly guide their students so that they enjoy the learning process and become confident players.”
